Using pre-fabricated steel structures for churches meets the most common stated objectives. Steel buildings are cost competitive, beautiful and inviting and can be erected quickly. Churches built from pre-fabricated steel also provide the congregation extensive opportunity for growth. In Bryan, Texas at the Pentecostal Church the congregation requested a large open space multifunctional building to be used as a place for youth sports programs, plays, potluck, dinner gatherings, and extra space for Sunday school classes through the use of the multi-use mobile walls. The exterior matched the exsisting building appearance. Brick used on the front and back awnings, and stone beige high rib panels also matched the other exsisting building. With use of non-load bearing interior walls, future plans of moving the worship service into a larger structure can be quickly accomplished. The Corbin Parkway Church of God is a great addition to the community. The auditorium has a huge theatrical stage utilizing blanket insulation with white painted columns and purlins. The sound, video and lighting system were installed into the ceiling to enhance the stage presence. The control booth was set on top of a mezzanine system which extends along the 135 ft. sidewall. Interlocking folding chairs can be put on rolling carts and stored in rooms provided when the facility is being used for basketball and volleyball events. Also, locker rooms and a commercial kitchen were included into the buildings design for large groups and activities.
